At last, a beautiful boardroom ... with refreshments!

"Letting you go ... it's a good thing. But take some lemonade to enjoy in the cab."

The Apprentice is keeping Trump for two more years but it's also gaining Martha Stewart, in a new version of the program. According to a press release:

The show will retain the general format of the original series, including the weekly terminations, but the tasks will be centered on Ms. Stewart's areas of expertise, such as home renovation, entertaining, design, style, merchandising and media. In addition, "Stewart will bring her own sensibilities and creativity to the elimination process," NBC said.

NBC Universal President Jeff Zucker announced today in a conference call that contestants will compete for a job at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. Mark Burnett will be an executive producer ... and so will Donald Trump, so be afraid.

Guess we weren't far off when we said that Burnett's planned prime-time program with Stewart sounded sounded "like it might be a spin-off." There is no word yet on a starting date but both Apprentices will share casting calls, beginning February 4. Stewart is scheduled to leave prison next month, and then serve five months of house arrest.

When the show does start ... please let there be no rewards featuring "her good friends" Donald and Melania. Especially given that he is an executive producer (and she apparently is not), this is a realistic concern.
